Sarah Kuhn
Hi Sarah!
Introduce yourself!
Hi, I’m Sarah, and I’m in my fifth semester of my Bachelor's. I’ve lived in Zurich my whole life, but my background is Vietnamese and Swiss. When I find some free time, I love to help out at my friend’s bagel shop and chat with the customers, or you’ll find me at a cute café in Zurich with my best friend, chatting for hours. During my studies, I’m particularly interested in everything related to programming languages and systems, like compilers, program semantics/ testing, type checking and so on.
How long have you been at CSNOW?
I joined CSNOW in HS24, but I’ve attended some of their events throughout my bachelor’s years. :)
What do you like about working at CSNOW?
I love our team at CSNOW—everyone is super chill and fun, and together we manage to organize cool events. I’m also motivated by the opportunity to tackle a broader issue in Computer Science. I really want to show girls that they can be in tech, and that CS isn’t just for “nerdy guys.” Working at CSNOW lets me help girls feel welcome in the field and strengthen the girls’ community in CS.
What is your favourite animal?
This is so random, but I would say butterflies and elephants. Butterflies are just so pretty, and their transformation from pupa to full-grown with wings is such a beautiful metaphor for many aspects of life. It’s also why I have a mini butterfly tattoo! Then there are elephants: I think it's adorable how loving and intelligent they are.
